Dr. Samriddhi Poyekar
Consultant Hepatologist & Liver Transplant Physician

Dr. Samriddhi Poyekar is a Consultant Hepatologist and Liver Transplant Physician at Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai, with expertise in managing both common and complex liver diseases.

She completed her DM in Gastroenterology from Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, after her DNB in General Medicine from Jehangir Hospital, Pune, and MBBS from TNMC and Nair Hospital, Mumbai. She has further training in advanced hepatology and liver transplantation from Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad.

Her clinical practice covers the full spectrum of liver disease—from fatty liver, alcohol-related liver disease, and viral hepatitis to autoimmune liver disorders, rare conditions such as Wilson disease, Budd Chiari Syndrome.

In addition, she is actively involved in the care of patients with advanced liver disease, including cirrhosis, acute liver failure and acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF), and those requiring liver transplant evaluation and long-term follow-up. Her training in critical care hepatology allows her to manage patients across both outpatient and intensive care. Her work also extends to liver disease in pregnancy, area that require careful, experience-driven decision-making.
Alongside clinical practice, she remains actively involved in academic hepatology, with research presented at national and international platforms. She has also been engaged in patient education initiatives and guideline development in fatty liver disease.
Her approach is centred on clarity, structure, and evidence-based care—helping patients understand their condition and move forward with confidence.
